BIKE DRIVE

WHAT?

The Farmworker Caravan is looking for new and used bicycles to gift to migrant farmworkers and their children. All sizes are welcome.

WHY?

  • Bikes are often the only way for migrant workers to get around rural areas where public transportation is scarce or nonexistent, making them crucial for work and daily life.
  • They enable workers to reach grocery stores, post offices, money transfer stores, medical clinics, pharmacies and community events.
  • Bikes are cost effective and eliminate expensive upkeep costs of other modes of transportation which is vital for people on a limited income.
  • Most workers live on migrant camps and are bussed to work every day. Having a bike gives them a little bit of freedom.
